Fourth of July in Togo, too. . . Minus the Fireworks!!

 July 8, 2019

First of all, hope y'all had a great 4th of July!! The more I am away from America the more I love it and am grateful for all the things I've been blessed with. We take so many things for granted that we don't even think of as a blessing. Roads, sewage systems, garbage disposals, running water, reliable electricity, fans, traffic laws, a free government, an economy, garbage cans, any food product that taste good (besides flour oil and tomato paste), ovens, the list goes on and on and on! Haha, even an English keyboard I'm thankful for! It really has been raised up as a blessed and promised land!  #MyNation

Shout out to my mom and sister who made it to Africa!

So, we decided to celebrate it right. Me and elder Tia decided to have a BBQ of rabbit and make Cafe Rio burritos (which ended up more like salads) and even though it took until 11:30 at night to finish cooking we decided it was about normal time in America to be eating and when we're celebrating the 4th, we're on American time. ; )
We didn't name him or else it would have been too hard 😞

Who needs a barbequer when you got this set up!

Hand rolled tortillas, fresh cut salad, BBQ right of the grill, Aww, yeah, doesn't get better than that 💪👈

This week there was a baptism of a sister in our ward named Soeur Terrez. This lady is amazing, and no joke has relief society president written all over her. She is the nicest most loving lady ever and just wants to help everyone around her! Her story was pretty cool how she came into the church. She told me she had left her church because she didn't see truth in any of them and decided she would just worship at home. One day she saw the missionaries pass by and asked them who they were. They explained and she told them that she felt they were men of God. They started teaching her and after all the lessons she still hadn't been to church because she wasn't sure if it was true. One night she had a dream and she saw the prophet, President Nelson, and she felt she needed to follow him! So, sure enough she started to come to church and saw that it was truly the church of Jesus Christ restored on the earth again and was finally baptized!

Love y'all - have a great week!
